Meet the Mulberry Team!
Mulberry is our only toddler classroom. It is licensed toddler/preschool (for 9 full-time students). While we can accept children as young as 15 months, we typically place students who will be 21 months (as of September), allowing students to spend only one year in this classroom. The toddlers typically become preschoolers during their year in this room, and we will wait to phase a child into the preschool rooms until the end of the year regardless of when they turn 3. Our play-based, nature-based toddler classroom isn’t afraid to get dirty and gets to experiment with many different types of art and sensory materials, in addition to whatever nature will provide us outside. We focus on developing self-help skills along with social/emotional skills, while also strengthening language and motor skills as well. Our “themes” are based on what the children are interested in at the time, so every year looks different.
A typical days schedule in the Mulberry room includes: free play (either inside or out), large group circle, snack, free play and art/sensory/experiments, outside play, lunch, nap, snack, and outside/free play until pick-up.
The toddlers go outside at least twice a day, except in extreme weather, going from swimsuits, to snow pants to mud gear all in one year!
